Nursery News

Theme: woodlands, forest, adventure, natural

We had a great time preparing Elias’s nursery for him, but didn’t really start using it until he was around 13 months old. We gave our parents the queen bed that was in this room and sold the glass display case to make more space. We started with nothing except two wooden sets of drawers, so up first we decided … FRESH PAINT! We went with Current Mood by Clare for the accent wall and painted the other three walls in Whipped by Clare

I really wanted an accent wall, and Kristoff was willing to give it a shot. Below are some pictures of the painting and accent wall progress. I sketched what I wanted on a piece of notebook paper, and my husband rented tools from Home Depot to make it come to life. Items used: 1/2” MDF cut into 1” strips, level, a speed square, measuring tape, pencil/eraser, mitre saw, nail gun, drywall putty, sanding paper, and of course, the paint you choose.

The finished product (last pic.) was amazing and changed the entire space. We then moved in both dressers (one is sort of like a changing table too) and purchased (or were given) a few products.

We will turn E’s crib into a toddler bed with THIS EXTENSION and both will fit along the back wall. I’m so excited for them to share a room eventually!
