Wow! 2024 was my favorite year to date. I wish I could turn back time and do it all over again. We found our groove in 2024 and left the country for the first time with our son. He started walking at 10 months old (end of February 2024), so every place we took him became more magical and immersive. Here is our “travel” year in review broken down by month. Could we please rewind time and do it all over again?! Not listed: all of our daily/weekly, local adventures that we enjoyed in 2024.
January: None
February: Weekend in Charleston, SC for E’s 1st wedding! We also hiked along the Palmetto Trail together.
March: None // Enjoyed egg hunts & E’s 2nd Easter
April: None // E’s 1st Birthday Party & we fostered a set of kittens!
May: Hiked at Harbison State Forest, visited E’s 4th National Park (Congaree National Park), picked strawberries at Cottle Farms with friends, & spent a day at Folly Beach
June: England & Wales (June 4th-25th), Pennsylvania (June 26th-June30th)
July: Went sailing together with a friend for the first time, enjoyed Folly Beach Day Trips, a NC Trip (2 nights), IOP Beach Trip with friends (2 nights), and camping at Huntington Beach State Park (4 nights)
August: Camping at Huntington Beach State Park (2 nights), Weekend in Beaufort, SC (Hunting Island State Park)
September: Camping at Hamilton Branch State Park (2 nights)
October: SC State Fair, K’s Bday Escape Room Experience, & stayed in a hotel for 1 night to visit Skytop Apple Orchard (we love to go apple picking!)
November: Day trip to Sesqui State Park to mountain bike, camping at Dreher Island State Park (2 nights)
December: Drove to Maryland to see family before Christmas and spent Christmas Day this year in NC with family!
My favorite month of the year was June, onwards toward 2025! What travels do you have planned for 2025?
